. Into the air, approaching escape velocity, thorns are at large. Welcoming, welcoming homeward bound. I bleed, I cry, I scream at dawn's revolution in terms it can understand. None hear me. I am alone with thorns. Why do they pierce my eyes and mind this early? They should still be attached. Not to me, to the sky for which they travel. I wave goodbye. They have reached destinations of farewell, in blood. What did I do to thorns. They linger grotesquely. Stars are rupturing their halos in welcome. Thorns rule today, from halfway to the stars. Indecently, my brothers are waiting. Two lives shattered. I will not cry when they die. . moreResolved Question: Can I get some epic poem ideas please?

I don't understand poem?
This is the poem: All day long they lie on the straight rows of white beds or sit in the heavy-duty wheelchairs pushed out into the breezy sunshine of the gardens. Resigned to the prisons of their own failing bodies, they drift in and out of the haze of senility, half-forgetting themselves In the patient wait for death. Still the bright-eyed teenagers come, on Saturday mornings, by the busloads, sent by their schools on compulsory excursions to learn the meaning of compassion as outlined in the CCA syllabus. They bring gifts of Khong Guan biscuits, they help to mow the lawns, they clap their hands performing happy songs and valiantly they attempt the old dialects trying to communicate. Later they will clamber noisily back up the departing school buses, and next week in class they will write startlingly similar essays on what a meaningful, memorable experience they had at the old folks' home last week My teacher say that the tone of the writer is sarcasm and she goes ob saying the irony, but i don't what she's talking about. Our peninsula has been invaded, Our bodies are ashen and bleeding, Our nation is being desecrated, And our time on earth is fleeting. But we don't stop fighting, And not one of our soldiers, Is retreating. We can feel the invader begin to panic, Haha! Our warriors, Have started the new havoc! The invader had toppled countless nations, From Afghanistan, to Vietnam , and Iraq But, we are still here, we fend off the attack! And as our soldiers, kill more of the enemy, We realize, there is no turning back I see a worthless insect, Who fights for the red, white and blue, So I feel no regrets, as I pulverize it, To death with my shoe. But, I cannot savor the moment, For in the burning air, I hear it, A helicopter! Which brings death and despair. But me and my brethren, fight on For We see it, but we do not care The last thing I will see, is that vile flag Painted on it's side. The shame of defeat, It had now come to hide. With a click, and a clack It starts to attack, it fires a missile And we cannot fire back. As I lay here, I am dying, But my bloodshed was not in vain, There are no tears, no crying! For the attack had failed, I am not lying. With pain in my cheeks, I look up to see, An Iranian air force unit, Had come to help us, in our quest to be free. moreOpen Question: What is wrong with me?
I wanna know whats wrong with me. I like to keep myself busy to distract me, I could be absolutely fine and then suddenly get really depressed. My low episodes can last between an hour to a couple months mabey they're sometimes triggered usually its not, I woukd just crash after a high. Im 18 and this has been happening for 4 years. During the lows I can become obssessed with death and pain towards myself and I get tormented by lies that I know arent true but I believe them because I dont have the will to fight them anymore, I tend to isolate myself, I think of myself as a burden to people, I get very irratable, I also self harm and I can be suicidal (Ive overdosed twice in the last 6 months). In the high I would be really hyper and over confident, I would feel like I can do anything and I take one so much more, I also tend to be more creative in a high I would draw, write songs and poems. Like I said this started 4 years ago when it did start the highs and lows changed mabey 3-4 times a year but over time the change in my moods are alot more frequent it usually changes within hours to mabey weeks. These constant changes between high and low is ruining my life. Its impulsive and its almost had me kicked outta collage never mind the risk of killing myself. I am seeing a counselor, but I just can't take knowing theres something not and not knowing what it is. And every doctor Ive spoke to doesnt seem to hear me. The inwards outward pull of mind sure has its way It can make you believe in night being better than day Twisted shanties one has put in his peaceful mind To make his young dreams sleep in them before the grind The grind of the conscience which one has to bear What’s in front, right, left and which thought should be rear The 50 shades of gray come out at times when all alone Mind gets dissected and regenerates into its own evil clone Wavy patterns of thoughts bring about a drastic change In the way we see things known, the unknown and the strange For what is known might become untrue in a hazy brain The parched sky in the desert of heart might see some rain Strange becomes familiar in a way you have not known Things never existed have in leaps and bounds grown Heat is the love now and the trance venom is an ally Blue is the color of earth and blood red is the sky He feels high on the thirst which quenches by the explicit Scenes which made him moaned and cry are now on exhibit He feels pleasure in the pain which once he resented Mutation of mind brings out the creature, the shadow fermented Black eyes glimmering as the black pearls of the sea White tongue plastered with red blood which is free Kundalini sleeps because of sedatives he drank Tombstone rises with the shrieks he skillfully sang Lustful mouth begins to wander mercilessly to catch a pray What was once afraid of the light is now out in the day As if a hyena is on the prowl, growling, watching and waiting Sinister vision x rays what chances he has by carefully abating Then he is bedazzled by the profane picture he sees in his mind Mission of analysis changes into attack on a soul which is blind The dark soul does not even care about the feminine side of lord Assaults, rapes, and then does the despicable of cutting her chord With no respect to how little the young goddess is He just enjoys the mourning and for him it’s bliss The poor soul departs since she cannot bear the brunt The creature does a victory lap on the deadly hunt Part 2 These acts awaken the power residing in heaven up above He becomes the slayer which is cruel and forgets all the love Taking his vengeance on the dark soul for the young goddess He takes the avatar of creature of death, as if to impress To impress death itself is such fearful my master’s sight is Taller than the tallest brick such of my master’s height is Such blistering is the aura of that blood demanding incarnation So fierce is my lord that nothing now is left to imagination He manifests now into Kali with her red eyes and rumbling breath The weapons of destruction glitter in the eight hand of goddess of death Twirling blood red tongue, heart piercing is her death vision She blows her conch and starts the inevitable mission Of bringing death to the dark soul which killed the young spirit Of beheading this serpent to complete this task is she rigid She takes one blow and the head of the demon separates Then she takes her fangs and into the demons body she penetrates And rips apart his heart out by cutting his very blood chord But this does not cools her anger such angry is my lord Then all I could do was to pray for her to be at ease And hope she forgives us others to have conceived this disease Yes it is us as well who have no right to be called alive If not then why is that when things happen only then for them we drive My lord you are the creator and you yourself are the destroyer You are slayer of the demons and you take us humans higher I hope she is not angry anymore with us for this reason I hope we in her eyes are not the ones, the cause of treason For the lord’s goddess is pure and she brings justice to all She is the soothing hymn and she is in everyone tall and small So I pray with my hands fold and eyes closed uttering her name Please blossom your spirit in us mother and save us the shame. moreOpen Question: Help on how to start this compare and contrast essay?

I have a final paper coming up for a class on Milton, and it's supposed to be 15-17 pages...AKA THE DEATH OF ME. The topic I'm doing is mythology in Milton, and in the same class we had to write another paper back in the beginning of the semester. The topic was different but I did point out the mythology in certain poems of it too. Basically in this paper there will be repeated information from the first paper. We didn't turn it in electronically, I handed it in person and got an A, he gave it back. He reads hundreds of papers a day and admits to not remembering them. Is it okay to copy and paste some of my past paragraphs and incorporate them into the essay? It's the same info anyway, same sources, same examples. Archipelago Define me in a spark of light and mind; A misty voice I heard when horns signaled; The Ship heeled to the right and stayed inclined Frozen's the Archipelago of Finland. The lighthouse of Henry LePaute was close; Valassaaret turned grayish in dusk; The length of day was seven hours, sea froze, ship's log of January, twenty first. You tried to define me in this grayish, Devoid dusk solitude of winter ice, Maybe you were with our friends in Athens, The fresh aroma of cafe would suffice. We wait for the tugboat lights to appear, Recall you as a student at Penn State, The blue-white banner on wall and guitar, In Eastview Terrace dorm was our first date. The sea of Kvarken in winter's frozen, Breeze of Black Pines descends the isles' shores; Vertical slopes elevate from ocean, And all this emptiness of ice, abhors. The Ship's side turned to the tide and the bilge, Has risen unproportional from brines, And now she rides athwart on white vast fields, Cold's numbness causes sleep close to rock shrines. The red light of the tug blinks in distance, Approaches slow; the ice on Captain's brows, Makes me wonder of this snow's contrivance, Will guide us where Sea's Master Death endows. Define me in a spark of light and mind; A misty voice I heard when horns signaled; The Ship heeled to the right and stayed inclined Frozen's the Archipelago of Finland. © 03-01-2013, G. The Battling Boys of Benghazi Anonymous Marine Corps Officer We're the Battling Boys of Benghazi, No Fame, No Glory, No Paparazzi, Just a fiery death in a blazing hell, Defending the country we loved so well. It wasn't our job, but we answered the call, Fought to the consulate, and scaled the wall. We pulled twenty countrymen from the jaws of fate, Led them to safety, and stood at the gate. Just the two of us, and foes by the score, But we stood fast, to bar the door, Three calls for reinforcement, but all were denied, So we fought and we fought, and we fought till we died. We gave our all for our Uncle Sam, But Barack Obama didn't give a damn. Just two dead SEAL's, who carried the load, No Thanks To Us -- We were just "Bumps in the Road." moreResolved Question: I'd love some feedback on my rather morbid poem.?
Sue's Side He had a hardened face, But exerted a soft touch The impalement of time left him rendered, helpless Bludgeoned by time's deceit struck with a fierce blow The future had promised so much it delivered so little He sat alone in the corner, hunched alone with just a bottle His wife had died, A woman he only married due to impregnation The birth of a son was beautiful an infatuation for a short duration The son died, and thus birthed the shallow memory of his childhood But much more enticing was self pity A hopeless shudder of time's wind Time slipped his grasp, opportunism was dislocated from his vicinity He was trapped in a crowd of blank faces Huddles of creeping smiles Ultimately alone, he confided with a television screen He doesn't have a job His pay is a benefit His life was a deficit Forever guilty of an unnecessary act Committed by a mother of nature The parent of disaster The neighbours don't even know his name, he forgets to render his own existence So months pass, nothing happens Finally he builds up the courage to kill his hope He loops a rope round his fan, pulls up a stool The rope swings from side to side unconscious of his own kinetics His dry mouth was left open, a rope pierced his soul The tenant came by 2 weeks later and kicked down the door He found him hanging in the balance of time, a sight that would kick-start a decline in his sanity The clock started unwinding and his mind started falling He cut down the rope and hung himself too Nobody cared for them, nobody ever cares We are a mass of self mesmerised people Only conscious of our own mortality moreVoting Question: Can you C/C a scrap of paper possibly by Wire Twerp?

Dear Granddad, for the moments alive you were my hero, nothing but that not even a zero, you were my biggest hero, I miss you now as days pass by, even as I lay in a sea Shadows blinded by the truth that you are gone. You became nothing but dust, and so did I, I thought that I may even die. My last words to you were not many, and my final promise broken, but the kiss I laid Upon your head, is more powerful than any word that could have been spoken that day. You are gone now, back to the earth, were we all belong, I hope one day I can see you again, even if just for a second, all I need to see is a smile on your upon your Face, to know you are in eternal happiness. Now, God be thanked Who has matched us with His hour, And caught our youth, and wakened us from sleeping, With hand made sure, clear eye, and sharpened power, To turn, as swimmers into cleanness leaping, Glad from a world grown old and cold and weary, Leave the sick hearts that honour could not move, And half-men, and their dirty songs and dreary, And all the little emptiness of love! Oh! we, who have known shame, we have found release there, Where there's no ill, no grief, but sleep has mending, Naught broken save this body, lost but breath; Nothing to shake the laughing heart's long peace there But only agony, and that has ending; And the worst friend and enemy is but Death. moreResolved Question: Temporal Shift, can you read and see-or, c/c my poem?

I was asked by my mom to write a poem to be read at my grandmother's funeral. I tried to incorporate the things she loved: angels, dolls, red hats and most of all to travel the world. Please let me know what you think. Thank you so much! Deep, dark, forsaken, Silent as the harvest moon, We mourn and weep in silence, Taken by our thoughts of gloom. We sit and hold back sobs, Life has taught us, death is pain, Yet we fail to see the beauty— The sparkle in the rain. How would we see you now— Your love of angels come to pass? You stretch silken wings, Free from your suffering at last. A cherry-red hat atop your head, Porcelain doll cradled dear, You whisper through our cries, “There was never anything fear.” Your dreams of travel will come, With cheap airfare—no need to rest, You’ll fly the places you never went, And see the world on your greatest quest. Death is simply the beginning, Of journey just begun You taught us this, and so much more, So we leave you to these things to come. Let’s all dry our tears, And wipe our faces, Let us sing you on Your way to great places. moreTop Death Poems Links
