1. If you could click your fingers and master a musical instrument which musical instrument would you pick? 2. Should parents be allowed to pick the gender of their unborn child? This is inspired by a rising debate about some parents who have opted for abortions due to the unborn child being "the wrong gender" 3. A Danish television show has been called sexist for making their show feature naked women being judged by male judges on their bodies. The show's producers argue that it promotes discussion into the aesthetics of the female body. Is this kind of show okay? 4. An American college student has created a business charging for cuddles. What is the most interesting business idea you've ever had or come across? 5. The Tour de Cure is winding down and the team has cycled hundreds of km/miles and raised $2.3,000,000 for cancer. How far would you be willing to go to raise money for a charitable cause? 6. Is it better for a celebrity to never been seen making a mistake (in judgment) or to provide a good example by the handling the consequences with "class"? 7. The International Anti-Poaching Foundation has recently been established? What endangered animal would you most like to save from extinction and why? 8. Couples are ditching orthodox weddings. What are some interesting things you'd like to do if you get married or what is the most interesting thing you've ever seen at a wedding? 9. A university professor has said he can cure aging and create immortality. Do you think this is a good idea? My answers (because I love answering surveys as much as I love asking them) 1. The bass or electric guitar. I love metal and rock music so this is an obvious choice. I already play the flute so it's a bit of variety too. Guitars are also a bit versatile. 2. Personally I don't think so. I'm a pro-choice but I think aborting due to gender is awful as the baby is probably healthy. If you don't want that gender think of adoption. It seems so archaic to abort for that reason. I understand wanting a gender (you should love it regardless though) but aborting is a little OTT especially when there are so many couples who can't have kids and would love any gendered baby. 3. The show isn't as bad as some say as it is a decision made by those women. However, I think it's pretty tasteless and reiterates how we view (and this has been scientifically proven) women as objects and the media exacerbates this. This show also re-iterates some of the vain sentiments you see in the media. I think the show is quite ridiculous too - why not a good, harmless comedy show or a documentary program on something important like world issues, political issues or health issues or something? That would be more worth watching - and in terms of health shows could save a life. 4. Can't answer this - silly me, should be able to answer my own survey questions :P 5. I would go as far as possible for a cause I was passionate about. Things like human rights/anti slavery charities (human trafficking is a reality in many countries), Juvenile Arthritis (my best friend has it), Epilepsy (I almost died from it) and charities concerning psychiatric disorders - as these are things I'm passionate about. 6. I think it's better for them to provide a good example with the way they deal with it. Celebrities shouldn't be answerable for their fans copying them but that's reality. I think you can tell more about a person from the way they handle the consequences of their mistakes then from the mistakes themselves and celebrities are human. 7. I honestly can't decide what animal I'd rather save. I love Red Pandas and Prezawalski's (sp?) Wild Horse is the only true wild horse left so that's special. However I think it's important to do what we can for all endangered species as if I have kids I'd like them to have the same ability to see and experience the animals I've had the chance too. 8. I'm not sure I want to marry and I won't be bothered if I don't. However, I've thought strangely hard about what kind of wedding I'd have (if it was all up to me of course) and have come up with things like: - Not in a church - I'm not religious and wouldn't pretend unless my fiance was and it was important to him - Having the bridal party arriving in something like pogo sticks, Segways, old tractors, those Hagrid style motorbikes and sidecars or something. I think the surprised reactions of people would be so worth it lol. - Not wearing white. I don't like to and trust me: Me + white clothes = Disaster. Enough said, - Including Hessian German traditions from my heritage. 9. No, dying isn't nice but it's part of life and having people immortal could cause overpopulation issues. Please copy and paste questions I feel like a hypocrite asking but it just makes things easier. :)R.I.P baby Braydin. Aunt Jamie L...: In regards the gender abortion question:I thought so too, upon first hearing it but after some research found the abortion part to not be BS. In some places for example my state of Australia you can get an abortion as late as 28 weeks gestation. US abortion laws are mostly based on "viability" and is generally up to 24 weeks depending on the state. Due to advancements in technology medical professionals are also able to depict gender from 12-15 weeks in some cases. It's not foolproof (it's not really foolproof until about 18 weeks - but I'm thinking people who would abort over gender wouldn't think about that)http://www.whattoexpect.com/wom/pregnancy/how-late-can-you-get-an-abortion-in-the-united-states.aspx http://australia.angloinfo.com/healthcare/pregnancy-birth/termination-abortion/ Not having a go or anything just citing some facts as to why the gender abortion thing isn't bull. moreResolved Question: Which countires dont like America?

Our grandparent’s complete acceptance of racism as right lead to our parents questioning whether racism was right which eventually brought about the end of racism being publicly accepted as right. Just as our grandparents caused their children to rebel and change the general public’s acceptance of racism our parents bigotry is causing their children torebel and change the general public’s acceptance of gay rightsand will eventually end in equality for the lbgt community. Unfortunately our grandparent’s generation had to die off so the next generation aka our parents could progress and bring about equality for the African American community. so i geuss my main question is Could it be that our parents’ generation will have to die off so that that our current generation can progress and bring about equality for the LGBT community?•Our grandparent’s era racism was a societal norm. Okay, so in school we've just finished up the Latin American unit so now we have a project to make a newspaper from any given time period somewhat pertaining to Latin America. I've decided to do my project on the Cuban Missile Crisis from Soviet Russia's point of view. So for the project we have to come up with a research question that's to be answered in our newspapers. Which one sounds the best and most logical to be answered: - How did Russia's involvement with Cuba affect U.S. and Soviet relation? - How did life change from the USSR after the Cuban Missile Crisis? - How did the Cuban Missile Crisis implicate Russia? Also, just a few quick questions about USSR: - Would the people have known about the proceedings during those 13 days or would it have all been censored from them? - For my editorials I'm addressing the Cuban and American peoples. Would it be okay for me to have an editorial criticizing the Americans but yet like exhibiting a sense of respect for them if that makes sense? - Did the USSR censorship policies allow jokes like "In Soviet Russia, you don't ride bull, bull rides you" for lack of a better one. Would they be offensive? - Also, if someone in Soviet Russia did openly spread anticommunist sentiments would the military personel publicly batter him/her? Also, for my business section of the paper I have to analyze a government policy that affects business in Soviet Russia. I know for a fact the socialists were against capitalism, but is there a term for that opposition? Because that's what I was thinking of talking about. By the way this is all due tomorrow so speedy answers would be most appreciated! Thanks you all very much! :) moreResolved Question: What do people do on Valentines day in American high schools? I notice that, like taxes, there seems to be a particular resitance among Americans to adopt gun control. Despite having the highest firearms homicide rate in the industrialized world, and having examples set of countries like Canada, Australia and China all facing high gun violence then cutting it drastically down with tougher gun laws the USA seems to illogically insist that loose gun laws will make it safer. This sentiment persists despite Columbine, Fort Hood, and this year with the Aurora Theatre, Wisconsin Sihk temple, Empire State Building, Oregon shopping center and Connecticut elementary school. Does anybody have an idea what causes the resistance to gun control measures in the USA that have worked well for other nations? moreResolved Question: Isn't this an interesting documentary?

I was just curious what others think. I am an American, but I used to live in South Korea and am very interested with anything to do with Korea. First off, I have read nowadays that many South Koreans are longing for "tongil," or reunification, even though it may take several decades to fix the North's problems. Obviously there's the whole Anti-Americanism sentiment taking place in the South as well, but with justified reasoning in my opinion. Anyways, would both the North and the South feel less tension if the U.S. were to leave, and would North Korea be more open to reunifying at this point as well? Granted I don't know as much as I would like about policies that both the U.S. and the South are implementing, which would help me grasp a better understanding. In an unrelated question, I actually want to move back to South Korea in a few years. has the governemnt actually told the media not to mention 'muslim', for fear of increasing anti muslim sentiment, or inflaming muslims?? yet again the bbc have avoided mentioning that some terrorist suspects on trial are muslim. im not bashing them, but this enrages me... and i wonder why they dont. its not irrelivant, as its the cause of their actions. its not describing them *as* muslims who have comitted a crime unrelated to their religion- it is the VERY CAUSE. terrorism in NI or ireland is attributed to 'suspected' loyalist etc paramilitaries- so why so dainty over mentioning muslim terrorists are muslim?? tbf its not just the bbc, but ive watched the channel 4 news tonight, and they had no trouble w saying it; the bbc, on tv, radio and online http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20007532 do NOT. reports are often obviously relating to muslim terrorists due to the curious lack of info~ 'two men were arrested on torrorism charges in birmingham' etc- where as smaller crimes are often described as 'a 35 year old father of two from leeds who worked as a builder, was arrested for X', and infomation given at length. is this a BBC only policy, or has the gov had a quiet word w the media in general?? the american press is often as reluctant- reports will mention afghan training camps, or al quaida, but never that the terrorist IS muslim. since their religion is what they see as the cause, and the justification for their actions, why the failure to mention it?? has the government actually TOLD the media not to say it? are channel 4 and a cpl of others the only ones w any balls?guru hank, i usually agree w you, but this is VERY different to the way its reported in the C4 news, which says 'muslim men arrested' as the headline. calling them jihadists is very different form mentioning that they are muslim.it was also not mentioned in the radio and tv reports ive heard today on the beeb.im not being a right wing BNPer about this- but if vegitarians (as i am) comited a crime against meat eaters, it would be in the headline, and in the article.reports about muslim terrorists are easy to sport for the lack of info, and the fact muslim is never mentioned- eg http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19852933 or http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-19525665 but here's "dissident republican" mentioned in the title- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-19375977 see my point??@ memon- as i said, n most cases its irrelivant. but since their actions are caused by their religious beliefs, its reasonable to report it.as the channel 4 news does. the bbc also reports terrorism involvng muslims very differently to any otehr crime; far less info is given, few if any outside broadcasts; but for any other crime on the national news there's vox pops, outside broadcasts.so why does the bbc report this so differently- channel 4 has no issue w mentioning theyre muslim- why is the bbc so chicken?@memon- but this is my whole point. The beeb never mention this causal factor bt c4 do. Yet in other reports everything you do, and a lot you dont, want to know is added in- age, married or unmarried, occupation etc. occupation is oft irrelivant in crime bt the bbc add it. If its not offensive to builders or bankers to say what they do, why keep schtumn on the entire raison d'etre for a crime???Ah. Im off for a twix : ) moreResolved Question: What was wrong with Obama advertising to muslem world that a video caused protestors to attack our embassy?

This is a head scratcher for me. That's because for 8 years, the Republicans ran on the idea that we need to spread Democracy to the Middle East even if they don't want it. (Like we did with Iraq) Then the Arab Spring comes along and they are finally starting to have democracy. The people clearly want the Muslim Brotherhood yet it seems like Cons are opposed to Democracy in the Middle East when they actually try to vote for who they want. Often moderate muslims are criticised for not condemning their extremists (me being one of the people who complains of this.) Yet in Libya there have been muslims against the riots and even talk of the attacks against the American embassies being a planned assualt. In the article link I shall give, there are people holding placards saying stuff like 'Islam was never about terrorism.' So my questions are, what do people feel about this? Does it make you feel less angry? What do Muslims on this site particularly feel about other muslims killing and rioting (as now it is no longer in Libya but spreading), is it people jumping on a band-wagon and using insult as an excuse to kill and destroy, or is the rioting and killing justified?http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/16/libyan-president-magariaf-military-action moreResolved Question: Is bush at fault for the troubles we are having in syria and iran because he took out saddam hussein?

I am a republican and I want Obama out just as much as the next republican, but I feel like people who make false claims about Obama not having been born in the USA just make is look stupid. They give republicans a bad name, and this reduces our credibility. I don't like him, but I fully acknowledge that yes, he was born in the USA, and he won the election fairly, and he is the President. Same with people like Hank Jr. who say that Obama is a Muslim who hates America. It just makes republicans look like a bunch of back woods rednecks, which is not the case. Most of us are decent people with family values. Whether Obama is a Muslim or not is totally irrelevant, and it is wrong to make stereotypes about Muslims just the way it is wrong to make stereotypes about Blacks or Jews. Who's with me?John Hinkle, yes, it is wrong for people to attack Romney for his Mormon beliefs. People who do this are just uninformed and do not have anything else to attack him on. It is not different. Now, if he were to force his beliefs on others, then THAT would be different, but that is not the issue here.To those of you who say "this is what the republican party stands for". Not all republicans think such things. And if the perception is out there that it IS what we stand for, then it is going to cost us come election time.....and that is what pisses me off.....that dumb redneck idiots are screwing over the republican party. moreResolved Question: historical events during the 1960's?

To what extent did it fuel anti-american sentiment in the meddling of internal affairs? To what extent can their be deemed a moral equivalence between the stalinist purges/show trials of the 1930's and the McCarthy trials of the 1950's/1960's? To what extent did the activities of the CIA intervening in French and Italian elections to prevent the Communists from gaining power mirror those of Stalin's secret police in Eastern Europe? I recently went to a Lynyrd Skynrd concert, and noticed that the band towards the end pulled out the confederate flag, wrapped it around the mike, and started waving it around. Later they used both the US and confederate flag together. The band the entire time was giving the clear message that they love the US and that it is the greatest country in the world. Many people in my area do the exact same thing, waving around a C-fed flag while singing the US' praises. I don't understand this. The confederacy to me is an entity that jumped ship and decided not to be a part of the US, they are essentially deserters. In my eyes it is one of the most anti-US symbols in existent as it was used by a group that decided to just up and leave the country. Can someone explain this to me? Well, I was born in Turkey (my mom is Turkish, and my dad American) and moved to America when I was a year old. I visited Turkey last summer (I stayed the whole summer) and it was really nice. Anyways, I was watching the Khloe and Lamar (Well my sisters friend who was over was watching it, and me and my sister just agreed because she was a guest, cause I personally don't like that show) Lamar was going to go Turkey but they decided not to because of the Armenian Genocide. Do people still hold a grudge because of this? I mean, it happened so long. That's like hating the Germans for the Holocaust. It wasn't them who did it, it was their ancestors, they had no part of it what so ever. I was asking my mom if she hated Armenians and she said no. What do other Turkish people think about Armenians? And what Armenians think about Turks? Thanks! moreResolved Question: General Abrams as well as troops in Vietnam felt that they were forgetten and disconnected from the civilian?
population. We went on with our lives without nary a thought of the young service people dying while defending the country. This is what caused much of the anti-war sentiment then. Abrams came up with an amendment that was at first widely accepted to keep us all in the game and not take war lightly. President Johnson made the decision to not involve the Reserves or National Guard. This was unprecedented in American military history where previous conflicts involved them. Instead, Johnson used the draft to meet the increasing demands of an escalating war. The Reserves and National Guard became a haven for the rich and well-connected and the draft the place for the less fortunate. As the war was winding down, the Abrams doctrine was introduced to tie the hands of the president. With respect to future conflicts, the involvement of the Reserves and National Guard would be hard to avoid so that the whole country would feel the sting of war and would therefore enter into one more cautiously. After the implementation of the Abrams doctrine, the president would need to consult with Congress to get approval for committing troops to wars and the Reserves would need to be included. As you can imagine, the Republicans didn’t much care for tying the hands of their executives. Do you think the Abrams doctrine might slow down our aggression worldwide? You don't see the question?Wow, what a bunch of dumeez.I'm not even picking on a con. moreResolved Question: Affects of the Big Stick Diplomacy?
What did the Big Stick Diplomacy cause? Anything negative? How does it connect to any war during the time? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Does America have Obama figured out?
WE'VE FIGURED HIM OUT! By Ben Stein Why was President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed? Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths: The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. (Pig in a poke means: an offering or deal that is foolishly accepted without being examined first. A poke means sack.) They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith. They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright. They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator. The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar. Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, and not a fan of this country. The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way helped all Americans. The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never can be -- "a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society." Either the costs go up or the free society goes away... an historical truth. These are perilous times. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to "protect us" from global warming, itself largely a fraud, if believed to be caused by man. She has also signed on to a Small Firearms Treaty at the U.N. This is a back door gun control move. This is approved by the Senate and a 2nd Amendment majority doesn't exist in the Senate now. It will supersede all U.S. Law and the 2nd Amendment. All citizen possession will be eliminated through confiscation. Just Like Great Britain and Australia . Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms. There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America . moreResolved Question: safest south american country for an american family?

So they come here to take our benefits because their countries don't provide any. Their countries don't provide any because they are corrupt and sell their resources, land, and labor cheap. They come here because they wont do anything about their corrupt governments but when they do something about their governments we intervene because their governments won't sell cheap resources anymore resources they could use to feed, shelter, and clothe their people. But we have to intervene because we have to protect American Interests. So wouldn't the illegal immigration problem be solved by us abandoning those interests in the third world? moreResolved Question: How did the Zimmerman Note lead to the U.S. entry into World War 1?
